Pc gamers love Steam. Epic needs to win PC gamers hearts if they want to compete with Steam. Winning/stealing developers is not going to get them there. The free games got them on the map, but they still need to win hearts with tech on par with Valve’s.
Is the CPU using a socket that makes it not upgradable? I don’t mind the cpu itself because I’m sure it’s fine to match with those GPUs, but I also want to stick with standard parts that can be replaced without having to go to the manufacturer. I have an Asus laptop and they don’t post bios...
I have a laptop with a 3060, but I didn’t turn it on the day of the survey, so it didn’t get counted this month. I was on desktop, so its video card did get counted this time.
Google owns chromium. It is open source, but they are still the owner. They would be forced to sell it too. The new owner could decide to close the source. However, some of its source code could be forked before that depending on the license. The BSD portions could definitely be forked.
They were saying previously that part of the DOJ plan would be that Google would not be allowed to own a browser for at least 5 years. This would stop them from making a new one for 5 years. The Chrome buyer would likely also get Chromium and the new owner could decide to close the source. I...
This only accounts for initial cost. Unless you’re a kid and your parents pay for your electricity, there is also a cost to run it. I’m more concerned with total cost of ownership than just initial cost.
I’m going to wait for some reviews before I decide. AMD seems to have better linux support, but much worse ray tracing, AI, efficiency, and heat. Hopefully they fixed that in the new generation, but I’ll wait for reviews before I make any decisions to buy anything from any brand.
I use Apple maps because it doesn’t have ads. If they add ads then I would likely switch to something else. Not having ads and tracking is why I use iphone instead of android.
