Intel Arc Xe3 Celestial GPU enters pre-validation, Battlemage B770 tipped to launch at Computex 2025

B770 is the "big" battlemage chip so it's still 2nd gen just the upper mid tier option for the battlemage GPUs. Good time to launch some more competition for the 9060/ 5060 if they can do it at the end of may. Might help keep pricing more in check on those cards.

GPUs are so bulky now that Asus is using gyroscopes to detect sagging

600 watts isn't unprecedented for total GPU power. Enthusiasts hit that back in the Crossfire and SLI days with triple and double dual cards. If you ran two titan z's you would have a 750 watt total gpu power draw between with cards maxed out. Triple gtx 280s would have been 680 watts in 2008.

Saddle up: Kawasaki shows off hydrogen-powered robot horse

I was thinking energy density compared to pure battery powered, even with it's terrible trouble of mass and the pretty bad losses on the conversion you would still beat out a battery pack on density so better range for size constraints on the vehicle. I suspect though they went with it for the...

Saddle up: Kawasaki shows off hydrogen-powered robot horse

Did you read the article? "The robotic steed draws its energy from a 150cc engine connected to a hydrogen canister tucked into the vehicle's rear. Each leg is equipped with its own drive unit, powered by electricity generated from the engine." Has a standard dirtbike engine modified to run on...

Hundreds of Warner Bros. DVDs from the 2000s are rotting away

The only thing I have on that list is my 4 disc's from Stanley Kubrick Director’s Series and I just tested them all without issue. They are all ripped to my plex server storage which is on a redundant array and is backed up to another drive weekly as well as a offsite drive every 3 months.

Nvidia expected to announce RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti next week, launch in April

Will be interesting to see how stock is on the 5060's since they are all based on a single chip GB206 whereas the 4060 family was split between two separate chips. With the 5060 being a cut down chip seems like supply will not be able to keep up with demand very well.

Intel embraces the multi-foundry approach, currently outsourcing 30% of its wafer production to TSMC

It's not a bad system overall, they still have the option to use in house manufacturing for a subset of products which helps keeps the costs down since they arn't competing for wafers from the other big tech companies on those. But for cutting edge or near cutting edge processes they can scale...

AMD's Frank Azor insists the Radeon 9070 and 9070 XT will be sold at MSRP despite reports of imminent price hike

My local Best Buy in Montana had one of each in stock, kinda wild for us. I bet AMD prioritized USA stock over EU.

Amazon MGM gains creative control over James Bond movie franchise

My mom loved the Bond films so I grew up watching them and they are some of my favorites as well. Sad to see Barbara won't be in control any more she did a great job keeping the franchise alive in the 2000's with Daniel Craig as Bond. After seeing what Amazon did with the LOTR I have little...

AMD Ryzen Strix Halo APU is matching the RTX 4070 laptop GPU in gaming benchmarks

You can build a 8600g or 8700g mITX build if you want that right now. You control the case size, how much memory and storage and can expand in the future.

US Air Force fuses two wrecked F-35s together to build a sky-worthy "Franken-bird" for just $6M

That Eglin bird was the first F-35 lost during early flights building up to IOC for the fleet. That also means it was a really old block prob older 2b compared to the jet lost in 2020 which would have been 3f.

Microsoft hides "official" workaround for installing Windows 11 on older PCs

2027, that's when extended support subscriptions expire. After that If your gonna use 10 the systems would need to be airgapped to insure maximum security.

Spider-Man 2 launches on PC this week as Sony drops PSN sign-in requirement

With them dropping the sign in mandate maybe some of those will end up on GOG with the other Sony games. Would be nice to get the sequels for God of war and horizon at least.

China's reusable rockets pave the way for space-based solar power

Would be far cheaper and simpler to keep adding panels to the giant empty desert that takes up a bunch of China's land as well as the giant rooftops of factories and warehouses all over the country. This is nothing more than a research project no different than the rockwell star raker concept...

Thermaltake unveils massive 2000W PSU, but it's too powerful for US outlets

No each room has 3 circuits, the lights are usually on there own with the ceiling fan. Then the 4-6 outlet boxes are on the two other circuits. Each outlet in the garage is it's own circuit and a couple of the outlets in the kitchen are a single circuit. It's massively overdone.
