At the price, it would be better for AMD to offer the 9900X3D with a full 8 on the X3D core and then 6 on the non-X3D core. Yes, that would make it 14 cores, but it would make sense of the price and not compromise the performance of the X3D core. The 6 core X3Ds could be saved for the inevitable...
I have an RTX 4080 in my primary gaming computer and I don't think I'll be changing that out for a while or will need to since there are about 5 GPUs in that same graphics category now, seems like it'll be the target performance for the next 2-3 years at least.

The 9070 XT is a better value all around than the 5070 with the exception of a few games when you turn on the full RTX where Nvidia clearly still has a major advantage. The thing is though, in most cases you wouldn't want to play those settings on the 5070 either as it's barely up to the task...
I get that value perspective here. But it's a 7900 XT with less RAM and 50% better RT. A good value I guess, especially if you can actually find it at MSRP. But, for those hoping that AMD was finally going to release the GPU we've all been waiting for, perhaps not.

AMD needs market share and to get market share they are going to need to be even more aggressive with pricing than this. The 9070 XT is okay at $600 and the 9070 is DOA at $550. Should have been XT at $550 and 9070 at $450, that would be the kind of aggressive pricing that would move market share.
Does it change the status quo? Not really.
Is it more compelling than the RDNA3 launch? Yes, but mostly because of Nvidia fumbling the 50 series in multiple ways, including performance.
Will AMD increase market-share? Maybe, but I maintain what really matters are the <$400 GPUs for...
