Buyer of new Tesla Model Y faced $14,000 repair bill one day after purchase, company blamed...

Sorry, but all your explanations boil down to one thing: politics. Anyone that you agree with politically cannot be called out by the media or anyone else for any reason, because if they are then it's only because of... politics!

The fact that some of these scumbags like Musk (and Orange Julius) are just horrible human beings does not matter to you. As long as they agree with you politically they are saints and can do no wrong. And of course they're the eternal victims of vicious, biased media attacks if anyone dares to point a finger at them.
I could've just said "cuz politics" but I that wouldn't make a lot of sense to everyone, I intentionally avoided doing so.

Let's put it into a little more perspective here, rather than focusing on only the parts that don't appeal to you personally.

People used to idolize Elon Musk because we rarely heard from him. When we did hear from him it was usually some new innovative thing or idea he was announcing. It's very easy to idolize someone when all you see is that he got rich quickly and only does positive things that most people like. Everyone assumed him to be some kind of genius.

But then his fame and fortune went to his head. Suddenly he had an opinion on everything from celebrities to politics and assumed he could get away with anything. Now all he does is crap on everyone all day long and you wonder why people hate him and crap on him in return.

He constantly talks out of both sides of his mouth. He says he's a free speech absolutist (which is quite an asisine idea in the first place) but only as long as you agree with him. As soon as you attack him or ridicule him you get banned from his platform. I suppose those things don't fall under free speech, but racism, bigotry, hate speech, antisemitism, sexism, etc. those are covered by absolute free speech.

I could go on listing all the ridiculous nonsense he's said or done in the past few years, so yes all the hatred and crapping on he's getting is very well deserved.
People used to idolize him because they blindly trust the media and PR, and they need someone to worship and someone to demonize. For some reason, mental illness probably, people become so sensitive when they hear anything related to Musk it makes them almost cry, kinda like with Trump. Both of which didn't do anything worth of notice, positive or negative, just talked about sensitive subjects and you didn't like what you heard.

I'm not a fan of EVs in general, but I gotta say, news single Tesla out because it's popular, they're not gonna talk about some issue a VW driver had because it's not controversial. Since Elon bought Twitter and voiced his opinion on things, people on the opposite political spectrum started shitting on him and everything he does. Before that, he was an idol to them.

Exactly. It's just click bait. VW dieselgate doesn't get the same ad revenue. Sadly, stories here are based on how many clicks they'll get, not how relevant or interesting or useful they would be to the audience.

I used to like Elon. I thought he was a dude who wanted to do good things. SpaceX, Tesla, were amazing things when they were starting out. But then he started running his mouth and I got to see Elon for what he actually is, a deceitful thin skinned man child with fascist tendencies. It made me no longer want a Tesla. It’s also ok to change your opinion and like new things or dislike things you used to like. You don’t need to be, and shouldn’t want to be the exact same person forever.

You're missing out on a great product. He's just a guy that provides financial backing to keep it going. If not for Tesla, we might not see EVs from other companies in our lifetimes. GM/Ford make an update once every 5 years. The auto industry moves so slow. Tesla is constantly updating (monthly software updates). They don't stick to some predetermined we're not touching the car for 5y cycle.

I know based on things I've read and seen that Teslas are poor quality, I'm not disputing that. My point is that news and people overblow any issue with Tesla because they don't like Musk. You are pretty much proving my point. I don't have a horse in this race and I don't respond emotionally like many.

Past owner of GM and Acura vehicles. Tesla is in another ballpark when it comes to quality. By poor quality, do you mean cheap materials or that stuff breaks? The materials are top notch. Cheap plastics in GM cars. You'll need an Audi or MB to have nice materials. The other brands just don't care.

There is also probably thousands of less parts that typically fail on ICE cars. They elimininated a thousand points of failure. I've had the following fail and strand me on the highway or had to make emergency trips to mechanics: spark plugs, O2 sensors, throttle body, muffler, fuel pump, transmission gears, rear end differential, coolant leak, steering fluid leak, etc. Tons of break repairs. None of these are present in my Tesla and I don't use brakes to stop so probably will never replace the pads or rotors.

I challenge you to watch one of Tesla's motors teardowns.
Or check how battery heating system work.
Not only these and other devices newer and thus more prone to baby problems,
but they are fairly complex. You might be right to say an EV is less complex, but not by much.
And all of the things you listed for ICE cars, in a proper brand, you do not know they exist (toyota and honda owner).

Some people complained about things like bad paint, uneven gaps of trim and doors, etc... There were a bunch of YouTube videos talking about this. But yeah, in theory, electric cars have fewer parts, therefore they shouldn't break nearly as much as ICE cars.
