Operating Volume & Temperatures

To ensure accurate thermal results, we installed the same hardware in each case in virtually the same way. Components included the Asrock Fatal1ty 990FX Professional, Phenom II X6 1100T, Prolimatech Megahalems in passive mode (no fan actively dispelling heat), Inno3D GeForce GTX 580 OC, half a dozen Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB hard drives, and OCZ's ZX 1000w power supply.

Surprisingly, despite the significant differences in internal design the Corsair Vengeance C70 Military Green and Thermaltake Level 10 GT Battle Edition cases delivered similar idle temperatures, with the latter giving a slightly better GPU temperature yet slightly worse CPU and HDD temperatures. Both performed well next to other cases we've tested, despite the CPU being a little warmer than it was in many popular chassis.

Under load, the C70 and Level 10 GT Battle Edition again provided similar results, though the Corsair case was slightly cooler. Overall, both enclosures performed about as well as any we've seen.
